The Soyuz series spacecraft are not particularly pretty, and look like flying water heaters complete with insulation jacket. But these things are tried and tested space taxis that have ferried people to and from a range of space stations over the last 30 or so years. The design has improved over that time, with larger space for the cosmonauts, and even a little window. Whilst spacecraft can hardly be described as utilitarian, this piece of kit is my utilitarian vehicle of the day.
