The Fragileness of the Web

I am seeing images like the above a lot, even here in Posterous. Content on the web is fragile, it depends on the goodness of people to share content, to make it available, often ending up in places that we don’t imagine that it will end up. But more and more I am seeing content being blocked from being federated out, and videos timing out after a few weeks. It seems that you can no longer link to something and expect it to still be there in even a few weeks, and that sucks. That is not how the web was designed to be used. It makes the web very fragile. I may have to re-evaluate how I use products such as Posterous in the future.
