I thought this might be a good time to post an update on the preparations for this year's Southbank Bristol Arts Trail, which is happening on the 9th and 10th May 2009 in Southville, Bedminster and Ashton. It's going to be a good trail this year, with a good line-up of artists and performers for you to see. I am also hoping for good weather, but hopefully not as good as last year's weather, which was very warm!
The trail guide has gone off to the printers, although unfortunately Out of Hand, our printer this year, bumped our job off the press to make way for a more "important" print run. That meant I had to stand down all of the volunteers who were going to turn up today (Saturday) to stuff inserts inside the guides and drive then around Bristol delivering them to galleries and suchlike. Very unprofessional of them to do that after promising to deliver, and we will not be using them again.
The theme of this year's trail is letterboxes, and this is reflected in the design of the trail guide and poster, which features an envelope on the front. There will also be a competition running over the weekend, which will tie into this theme. Keep your eyes posted for mysterious words on people's front doors, there may be a prize in it for you!
